Inter Milan reached the Champions League final yesterday night for the first time since 2010, defeating city rivals AC Milan 1-0 in the second leg of their semi-final tie. The Nerazzurri had taken a 2-0 lead from the first leg at the San Siro, and they were able to hold on for victory in the return fixture at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The game’s only goal came in the 74th minute when Lautaro Martinez fired Inter in front with a low shot from the edge of the area.
Milan had several chances to equalise, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

Inter will now face Manchester City or Real Madrid in the final, which will be played on June 11, 2023, at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

A Close Contest

The second leg was more of a contest than last week’s tie, with both teams creating chances. AC Milan started the brighter of the two sides and had the better of the opening exchanges. Brahim Díaz had a glorious opportunity to give his side an early lead, but André Onana comfortably saved his tame effort. Shortly after, Rafael Leão drove forward with a brilliant solo run, only to see his effort agonisingly roll past the post.

Inter grew into the game as it went on and started to create their own chances. Edin Džeko had a header saved by Mike Maignan before Lautaro Martínez fired just wide of the post. The breakthrough came in the 74th minute when Martínez was played through on goal by substitute Romelu Lukaku. The Argentine striker made no mistake, firing a low shot past Maignan to put Inter in front.

AC Milan pushed for an equaliser, but they were unable to find a way through Inter’s defence. The Nerazzurri held on for a 1-0 victory and a place in the Champions League final.

A Historic Night for Inter

It was a historic night for Inter, who reached the Champions League final for the first time since 2010. The Nerazzurri have been in excellent form this season, winning the Serie A title and reaching the Champions League final.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi will be delighted with his side’s performance in the Champions League this season. The Italian coach has guided Inter to their first Champions League final in 13 years, and he will be hoping to lead them to victory in Paris.

Who will Inter face in the Final now?

Inter will face Manchester City or Real Madrid in the final Champions League. The second leg of that game will be played tonight at 12:30 am IST.

Manchester City is the current Premier League champions, and they are one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season. The English side has a strong squad led by Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne and will be looking to add a champions league title, which is the only trophy they haven’t won under Pep’s reign.

Real Madrid is the most successful club in the history of the Champions League, having won the competition 14 times. They are also the defending champions, so they’ll be looking to make it to yet another final. The Spanish side has a wealth of experience, led by Karim Benzema and Luka Modric.

It will be an exciting final, regardless of who Inter faces. The Nerazzurri have a chance to win their first Champions League title since 2010 and will be determined to make the most of it.
